300,000 people joined mass protests across Istanbul.

Axar.az reports this was stated by the leader of Turkiye’s opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), Ozgur Ozel, regarding the rally demanding the release of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu.

He noted that water cannons were used against protesters, but no injuries were reported.

It should be noted that Ekrem Imamoglu was detained on March 19 on charges of corruption and alleged links to a terrorist organization.
