The Israeli army has called on residents of Rafah, a city in southern Gaza, to evacuate to the north.

Axar.az reports this was stated by IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee on his X page.

The message stated that "the IDF has begun an attack to hit terrorist organizations. The area you are in is considered a dangerous combat zone. Gush Katif Street is being used as a humanitarian crossing for you to move to the al-Mawasi area." The message also stated: "We warn you - it is forbidden to move in vehicles. Staying in shelters, tents and houses or crossing undefined humanitarian roads endangers your lives and the lives of your families. Evacuate the area immediately."
