The head of the government of Adjara, Tornike Rijvadze, has resigned.
Axar.az reports he wrote about this on his social media page.
"I have decided to step down as the head of the government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara. I have held this position for seven years. It is time for change, and I want to wish success to the future head of government," wrote Rijvadze.
He expressed gratitude to the founder and honorary chairman of the 'Georgian Dream' party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, for the opportunity to serve his region. Rijvadze also thanked the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, and President Mikheil Kavelashvili for their support during his tenure.
