Fidan emphasized that Turkiye is in contact with both Iran and the USA.
Axar.az reports, citing Anadolu Agency, this was stated by Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan.
"Before going to America, I spoke with Iran, and after returning, I spoke with them again. I honestly conveyed the expectations of both sides to each other. Right now, my advice to them, especially to the Americans and to the Iranians, is that, if possible, they should start face-to-face talks as soon as possible without waiting for any delays," he said.
Fidan, stating that Turkiye does not want a new war to emerge in the region, said, "Our region is not in a position to bear this. A military operation against Iran would only serve to increase instability in the region."
Fidan, indicating that he believes there is a ground for negotiations between Iran and the USA, said, "If the sides use this opportunity well, I believe this issue can be resolved without the use of force. What matters to us is not the sides talking to each other through megaphones in the media, but meeting face-to-face and discussing it.
