The number of US troops in Syria may be reduced to only 500 people.

Axar.az informs the New York Times reported this.

According to the publication, officials said the military is shutting down three of its eight small operating bases in northeastern Syria, reducing troop levels from 2,000 to around 1,400. After 60 days, American commanders will assess whether further reductions are necessary. They have recommended maintaining a minimum presence of 500 U.S. troops in the country.

Notably, Ynet previously wrote that the United States will begin withdrawing troops from Syria within two months.
