It has been claimed that the government of Olaf Scholz in Germany has vetoed the sale of “Typhoon” fighter jets to Turkiye.

Axar.az reports this information was shared by the Turkish media.

It is reported that this decision was made in connection with the arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu, the former chairman of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, as part of a corruption investigation.

It should be noted that the current government’s mandate in Germany will officially end in 15 days. The file related to the “Typhoon” jets will be on the table of the new coalition government.

The “Typhoon” aircraft are produced by a consortium consisting of Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain.
