A heavy stain of shame will fall on the Berlin authorities if they impose a ban on the use of Russian and Soviet flags at commemorative events dedicated to the anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War on May 8 and 9.
Axar.az reports this opinion was expressed in a interview with TASS by the head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs and leader of the LDPR, Leonid Slutsky.
"It would be an ugly display of Russophobia, a new attempt at revanchism, and, in essence, a reincarnation of Nazism in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory,” the deputy stated.
It should be noted that earlier reports stated that the Berlin police would ban the display of Russian flags and posters at Soviet memorials in the city on May 8 and 9.
