A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck Hokkaido, Japan.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

"The earthquake was recorded 248 km east of the city of Asahikawa. The epicenter was located at a depth of 10 km," the report said.

There were no reports of casualties or damage as a result of the earthquake.
