Ukrainian drones have struck Russian airfields in the Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur regions.

Axar.az reports the Russian Ministry of Defense released a statement on the matter.

It stated that drone strikes in the Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur regions were repelled.

However, in the Murmansk and Irkutsk regions, several units of aviation equipment caught fire after drones were launched from areas in close proximity to the airfields.

“The fires have been extinguished. There are no casualties among military personnel or civilians. Some participants in the terrorist attacks have been detained,” the statement read.

Ukrainian forces targeted airfields housing Russia’s strategic bombers. Strikes on five airfields in five cities reportedly destroyed more than 40 aircraft.
