Microsoft founder and billionaire Bill Gates will allocate much of his fortune to Africa.

Axar.az reports that Gates said this on June 2 during a speech at the African Union headquarters in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

"I recently promised that my fortune will be spent over the next 20 years. The bulk of this funding will be spent on solving problems in Africa," Gates said.

He added that the funds will be allocated through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The billionaire had previously said that about $200 billion would be spent on various projects by 2045.
