Tehran is ready to mediate in the talks between Islamabad and New Delhi.
Axar.az reports that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said this during a telephone conversation with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
It was noted that Iran welcomes any step aimed at establishing lasting peace between Pakistan and India and can play the role of a mediator to achieve this goal.
The politician also accepted Shehbaz Sharif's invitation to visit Pakistan and expressed hope that relations between the two countries would expand.
In turn, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said: "We are committed to peace and ceasefire talks with India and, while emphasizing our red lines in various areas, we are ready to work with the Indian government to achieve lasting peace through negotiations, and we welcome Iran's mediation in this matter. The Pakistani government believes that the solution to conflicts is dialogue, not war."
