At the invitation of the Iranian side, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu arrived in Iran on an official visit.
Axar.az reports that the Kazakhstan bureau reports that the press service of the country's Foreign Ministry published a statement on this.
The head of the Kazakh foreign policy department was received by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
"The parties discussed current issues of Kazakh-Iranian cooperation and confirmed that it is aimed at comprehensively strengthening bilateral relations," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
During the conversation, special attention was paid to issues of increasing trade and economic cooperation. The parties noted that, according to the results of 2024, bilateral trade turnover increased by 50 percent and confirmed mutual interest in further increasing it. The prospects for joint work in the field of transport and logistics were also discussed, including the use of the transit potential of the Caspian Sea and the development of the "North-South" International Transport Corridor.
The Kazakh Foreign Ministry reported that the interlocutors exchanged views, including on issues of the regional and global agenda, and confirmed their commitment to continuing close cooperation within multilateral structures.
"At the end of the meeting, the Iranian leader highly appreciated the level of Kazakh-Iranian relations and expressed his readiness for their further meaningful development. He also conveyed his best wishes to the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev," the statement said.
