Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved the development strategy of the Russian Navy until 2050. This is the first such document in the country's modern history.
Axar.az informs that this was reported by Nikolai Patrushev, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Naval Collegium.
According to him, the strategy assesses the capabilities of the Russian Navy, taking into account the experience of special military operations.
Patrushev said that the creation of a strong and modern Navy is impossible without first determining the scenarios for the development of the situation in the world ocean, the evolution of challenges and threats, and the goals and objectives set.
“That is why the strategy analyzes the development of the military-political situation in the world, the likelihood and nature of armed conflicts, and the potential of leading maritime states. The current state and capabilities of the Navy are assessed against the background of the experience of military special operations. The main requirements for the composition of the Navy in the future, its main tasks in peacetime and wartime, as well as mechanisms aimed at shaping the future face of the Navy, have been determined.”
