In neighboring Portugal, seven regions, including the capital Lisbon, remained on red alert for extreme heat on Monday. Fire warnings were issued for multiple forest areas as authorities urged residents to avoid going outdoors during peak temperatures. Rеports of heatstroke and burns have already emerged as the heatwave intensifies.
Meanwhile, the UK also faced sweltering conditions, with many people flocking to the coast. The southeast recorded the country's highest temperatures, reaching 34°C on Monday afternoon, just shy of historic highs.
