Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei condemned Israel’s June 13 airstrikes on Iran, warning of a “harsh punishment” and declaring that Israel had “prepared a bitter fate for itself.” Speaking on state television, he described the attack as a crime that exposed Israel’s “vile nature.”
Axar.az, citing JP, reports that Iranian state media confirmed the death of senior commanders and nuclear scientists, including Revolutionary Guards commander Hossein Salami, as well as civilian casualties, including women and children.
The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces called the Israeli strikes an “aggressive and adventurous act” and promised a powerful military response. Armed Forces spokesperson Sardar Shekarch warned that both Israel and the United States would “pay a very heavy price.”
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement accusing the U.S. of supporting the attacks, labeling the U.S. leadership as “terrorist rulers,” and promising decisive retaliation against both nations.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry declared the strikes a clear violation of international law, particularly the UN Charter, and asserted that Iran has the legal and legitimate right to retaliate under Article 51. The ministry called on the UN Security Council to take urgent action against Israel’s “blatant aggression” and defend global peace and security.
The Iranian government vowed to defend its sovereignty and citizens with full force, signaling a potentially severe escalation in the regional conflict.
