The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan has announced that electricity has been restored in the capital, Bishkek, and the surrounding Chuy region.

Axar.az reports according to TASS, "Power supply in the capital and Chuy region has now been restored after a brief disruption," a ministry spokesperson said.

Most districts in the capital are receiving electricity again. Preliminary reports suggest that the outage was caused by technical issues.

Earlier on Wednesday, June 18, nearly all parts of Bishkek were left without power. The Ministry of Energy had linked the outage to a possible malfunction at one of the substations.
