Moscow defends rights of Russians held in Azerbaijan

Moscow is in constant contact with Baku and is defending the interests of the detained Russian citizens, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing.

Axar.az informs, citing TASS, “Our embassy and our diplomatic service are in constant contact with the Azerbaijani side and are defending the interests of the detained Russian citizens, using all the means provided by law and established diplomatic practice,” he said.

Peskov also reminded that the Prosecutor General of Russia and the head of the Investigative Committee remain in contact with the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan.
