The UN Secretariat has not received any notification from the EU3 countries regarding the initiative to activate this summer the mechanism that envisages the restoration of all Security Council sanctions against Tehran (the "snapback" procedure) in the absence of progress in negotiations on Iran's nuclear program.

Axar.az informs that that this was stated by the UN Secretary-General's spokesman, Stéphane Dujarric, at a briefing.

He answered the journalist's question on the issue by saying, "We have not received an official letter."

The "snapback" procedure within the framework of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran's nuclear program envisages the restoration of all UN Security Council sanctions against Tehran that were lifted under the terms of the plan adopted in 2015.
