U.S. President Donald Trump has lost patience in negotiations with Russia, but the Kremlin’s “ruler,” Putin, is playing the long game and remains unafraid.
Axar.az reports that Australian analyst and TV journalist Yalda Hakim stated this in an interview with Sky News.
“When Trump first became president, he promised to re-evaluate the world order and fundamentally change the country’s foreign policy. But now, faced with the realities of geopolitics, war in Europe, and instability in the Middle East, Trump is increasingly following the same path as previous presidents during their second term when it comes to dealing with Moscow.
During his first term, Trump tried to appease Putin, attempting to show him the same favor he showed Kim Jong Un or Xi Jinping. Perhaps this was due to his admiration for authoritarian leaders, his belief in the power of personal relationships, and confidence in his business charisma…
His worldview was shaped during his years as a real estate mogul in New York. For him, the world is a map of business interests: he has his territory, and Putin has his. And in such a coordinate system, there should be no reason for confrontation,” the journalist said.
