Death toll as a result of a militant attack that hit a mosque in Egypt rose to 235, according to Egyptian State Television.
Hundreds of people are reported to have been injured.
The attack struck the mosque during Friday prayers. Egypt has been fighting jihadist militants in the northern Sinai Peninsula since they pledged allegiance to Daesh in 2014.

The militants on the Sinai pledged allegiance to the Daesh terrorist group in 2014, and have claimed responsibility for a number of deadly attacks in the region since then.
