Armenian soldier killed in Azerbaijani fire

A contract soldier of the Armenian Defense Army was fatally wounded in Azerbaijani shooting near Tavush Province, the Armenian Defense Ministry spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan said in a Facebook post.

Axar.az reports citing Armenian media the spokesman identified the soldier as Mushegh Abovyan.

"Those provocations by Azerbaijan will not go unpunished. We extend condolences to Mushegh Abovyan's relatives and family," the post read.

Earlier on Wednesday, another Armenian contract serviceman was wounded in Azerbaijani fire.
