The visit of the member of Greek parliament Garyfallia (Liana) Kanelli and the member of the Latvian parliament Sergejs Potapkins to the Armenian-occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan is an instigation and a biased approach, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman Hikmat Hajiyev said on April 12.

Hajiyev noted that such a biased step runs contrary to the positions of Greece and Latvia on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through negotiations and the spirit of cooperation between Azerbaijan and these countries, as well as encourages provocative actions of Armenia and aggravates the already difficult situation.

“The embassies of Azerbaijan in Greece and Latvia, relying on friendship and mutual understanding between the countries, will express the country’s dissatisfaction to the relevant structures of these countries,” the spokesman for Azerbaijan FM added.
