Presidential elections are being held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Axar.az reports that voting began at 8:00 a.m. and will continue until 6:00 p.m.
A total of 777 polling stations have been set up across the country for the election. To be elected president in the first round, candidates must receive 50% + 1 of the votes. If none of the candidates achieve this majority, a second round will be held within seven days.
Seven candidates, including five independents, are participating in the election. The current president, Ersin Tatar, is running as an independent candidate this time.

The voting process in the presidential elections of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has ended.
So far, 48.19% of the votes have been counted. According to reports, the chairman of the Republican Turkish Party, Tufan Erhürman, has received the most votes — 63.38%. Independent candidate and current president Ersin Tatar has received 35.27% of the votes.

Tufan Erhürman, chairman of the Republican Turkish Party, has won the presidential elections in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
The chairman of the TRNC Supreme Election Council, Bertan Özerdağ, announced the results.
He noted that 735 out of 777 ballot boxes had been opened. T. Erhürman received 62.80% (84,630 votes), while independent candidate and current president Ersin Tatar received 35.77% (48,208 votes).
T. Erhürman held a press conference, declaring his victory.
He stated that the country’s foreign policy will be conducted in consultation with official Ankara:
“Let no one have any doubt about that.”
