Estonia to open embassy in Azerbaijan in 2026

On December 2, 2025, a phone call took place between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and the Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Margus Tsahkna.

Axar.az informs, citing Azerbaijani MFA, during the conversation, the ministers discussed current issues on the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Estonia, as well as regional and global matters.

They noted with satisfaction the intensifying political dialogue and the growing number of reciprocal visits between the two countries. The importance of mutual support within international platforms was emphasized, and cooperation priorities were reviewed.

Minister Margus Tsahkna informed his Azerbaijani counterpart that Estonia has officially decided to open its embassy in Azerbaijan in 2026. Minister Bayramov welcomed this step, noting that it will give an additional boost to bilateral relations.

The ministers also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues.
