Trump thanks Aliyev and Pashinyan for peace efforts

U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for creating peace between their countries.

Axar.az reports that speaking at the first meeting of the Peace Council, Trump noted that the two nations had been in conflict for 32 years, which was resolved within 24 hours.

Addressing Aliyev and Pashinyan, he said, “I think you have now become friends.” He highlighted the difficulty of the process, recalling that at the start of the talks, the leaders were seated at opposite ends of the table. After an hour of discussion, they sat side by side, shook hands, and established peace. Trump described the achievement as remarkable and told the leaders they could take pride in it.
