Aliyev: No country in 80 years has won as fully as Azerbaijan

Over the past 80 years, no other country has achieved a victory as complete and decisive as Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports that President Ilham Aliyev made this statement on February 25 while meeting with residents of Khojavend city and village.

“You have lived for many years in hardship and suffering. The life of a displaced person is a difficult one, with both spiritual and physical hardships. Leaving your native land to live elsewhere—even within Azerbaijan—while enduring suffering is a great trial. You have passed this trial with honor. I am confident that all the Azerbaijani people, including you, always believed that this day would come, that we would liberate these lands, restore justice, and expel the enemy from our territories. As you know, although a large part of the previously occupied lands was liberated five years ago during the Patriotic War, Khojavend remained under occupation, and the residents of Khojavend believed that eventually the situation would change.

I am certain that there was confidence in society that not a single inch of land would remain under the enemy’s control, and we have achieved this. For more than two years now, we have full control over all territory—the sovereign territory of the Azerbaijani state. We have destroyed the enemy’s last stronghold, expelled the separatists, brought them to justice, and fully restored justice. Therefore, that difficult period is now behind us, it is over, and it will never return. Today our state is strong, our army is strong, and over these years our people have already demonstrated their greatness to the entire world. In the last 80 years, there has been no second country that has achieved as complete and absolute a victory as Azerbaijan,” Aliyev said.
