Next trilateral US‑Ukraine talks round planned

The latest round of bilateral talks between Ukraine and the United States concluded in Geneva, with lead Ukrainian negotiator Rustem Umerov and David Arakhamia meeting U.S. envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff.

Axar.az, citing Kyiv Post, reports that following the talks, they held a conference call with President Volodymyr Zelensky to review results and discuss next steps.

Umerov said preparations are underway for the next round, focusing on finalizing security parameters, economic solutions, and agreed positions to form the basis for further agreements.

“The next round is being prepared,” he said.

“We are working on finalizing the security parameters, economic solutions and agreed positions, which should become the basis for further agreements. The task is to make the next trilateral meeting with the participation of the USA and Russia as substantive as possible.”

Separate trilateral talks with the U.S. and Switzerland were also held, and Umerov expressed gratitude to Switzerland for facilitating the negotiations. The upcoming trilateral session including Russia is expected in early March.
