Arafi appointed as the acting Supreme Leader of Iran

Ayatollah Alireza Arafi has been appointed as the acting Supreme Leader of Iran.

Axar.az reports that this was announced by Tasnim.

“Under Article 111 of the Constitution, until a new Leader is appointed, a temporary Leadership Council composed of the President, the Head of the Judiciary, and one of the jurist members of the Guardian Council will be formed.

The Expediency Council has selected Ayatollah Arafi as a member of the council to ensure that leadership continues without interruption, and the Assembly of Experts will appoint a permanent Leader as soon as possible.”

It should be noted that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed as a result of strikes carried out by Israel and the U.S. A 40-day period of mourning has been declared in Iran.
