Iranian ambassador expresses gratitude to Azerbaijan

“We express our gratitude to the people and the state of Azerbaijan,” said Iran’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mojtaba Demirchilou.

Axar.az informs, citing APА, during a press conference at the embassy, the ambassador noted that the messages of solidarity addressed to Iran from Azerbaijan during difficult days are highly appreciated by the Iranian people.

He said that mutual support and solidarity are part of the historical and cultural ties between the two countries.

In his remarks, the ambassador also emphasized that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev had conveyed condolences to the President of Iran over the death of the Supreme Leader and that Iran highly values the support shown. He added that a telephone conversation had taken place between Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, during which they exchanged views on regional developments.

During the call, the Azerbaijani side once again stressed that it would not allow its territory to be used against any state, including Iran — a position that official Baku has repeatedly declared.
