EU pledges €200M for regional connectivity -

The European Union will invest up to €200 million to strengthen transport, energy and digital connectivity across the region.

Axar.az reports that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced this in a post on her X account.

Von der Leyen said the funding is expected to leverage an additional €2 billion in investment to boost regional infrastructure and cooperation.

"We support peace through connectivity. The EU will invest up to €200 million in transport, energy & digital links across the region. With this, we can leverage €2 billion in additional investment. To build bridges between countries and people," she said.

She also announced a new €20 million peace-building programme for border communities.

"In addition, we're launching a €20 million peace-fostering programme, dedicated to border communities. Together, we can turn peace on paper into peace into practice. This is within reach," von der Leyen added.
