Chairman of Turkmenistan's People's Council, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, who is on a visit to Ashgabat.
Axar.az reports, citing the Turkmenistan State News Agency (TDH), Jabbarov thanked Berdimuhamedov for the warm hospitality and conveyed greetings and best wishes from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. He noted that Azerbaijan highly values the steady development of bilateral relations and praised Turkmenistan's rapid socio-economic progress and the architectural appearance of Ashgabat.
Berdimuhamedov, in turn, asked Jabbarov to convey his best wishes to President Aliyev and stressed the importance of the steadily expanding cooperation between the two friendly countries.
During the meeting, the sides emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening its friendly, brotherly and good-neighborly relations with Azerbaijan. They also highlighted successful cooperation both bilaterally and within international organizations, particularly the United Nations.
Berdimuhamedov also described the recent state visit of Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Azerbaijan as significant and once again thanked the Azerbaijani side for the gift of the vessel "Dostlug".
