Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has announced the 18th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement Heads of State and Government.
Axar.az reports that Maduro invites everyone to a minute's silence:
“Several leaders of the Non-Aligned Movement have changed their lives. Here we would like to commemorate the memory of some heads of state. Some of the members of the Non-Aligned Movement are specially invited.
I thank the government and people of Azerbaijan for their hospitality. It is an honor for us to attend this summit. We have close and friendly relations with Azerbaijan.
From 2016 to 2019, we chaired this movement. Now we are together again. We have come here to defend the freedom of many countries, including Venezuela, to uphold international law. We are under pressure from the barbaric imperialist influence, but it is impossible to break our will.
At the 2016 summit, we had 3 specific goals, and these three were clear to us. We would like to see greater solidarity among the member states, and closer integration within the movement. He thanks the Republic of Azerbaijan and we hope this will work for a more vivid demonstration of solidarity. ”
