As reported, Major General Andrei Volkov has been appointed the new commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Karabakh.

Axar.az reports that Major General Andrei Volkov studied at the School of Chemical Weapons Defense of the Supreme Military Command in Russia's Kostroma region.

Andrei Volkov was sent to serve in Syria in 2017.

Former deputy commander of Russian peacekeepers temporarily stationed in Azerbaijan, Rustam Muradov has been appointed deputy. Today, he replaces Lieutenant General Gennady Anashkin as the new head of Russia's peacekeeping contingent in Karabakh.
