President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received James Heappey, Minister of the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom and member of the British Parliament.
Axar.az reports that it was noted with satisfaction that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom, and it was noted that effective cooperation between the two countries in various fields has been carried out during this period. In this regard, the importance of the congratulatory letters of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Boris Johnson to President Ilham Aliyev and President Boris Johnson was noted.
It was noted that the implementation of successful cooperation over 30 years creates a good basis for further expansion of our relations.
The sides exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation in oil, gas, investment in the Azerbaijani economy by the United Kingdom, trade, transport, and defense.
Azerbaijan's participation in NATO's Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan was noted during the conversation.
President Ilham Aliyev spoke about the post-conflict processes in the region after the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
