French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné has pledged to protect Armenia from Russia's pressure.

Axar.az reports that the French minister made this statement during a press conference in Yerevan in the context of defending democratic European values.

"Despite Russia's threats and open hostility, support will be provided to the Armenian people and government. You can always rely on our assistance in defending democratic values. France helps all countries fighting for these values. France is always close to you. There are few topics on which there is consensus among political forces in France. Armenia is one of those rare topics," Séjourné said.
