Turkiye is working to end the war in Ukraine as quickly as possible. To this end, Ankara is proposing to use peace negotiations while considering Ukraine's interests.

Axar.az reported that this was stated by Basat Öztürk, the Director General of the International Security Department at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"We support Ukraine without hesitation because Ukraine is our neighbor and historically a brotherly country. We consider all Ukrainians our brothers and sisters, and I am wholeheartedly committed to them. Therefore, we do not wish to prolong this war. Of course, Ukraine should not surrender," Öztürk said.

According to him, the war must be stopped through peaceful negotiations:

"No war has been eternal. In terms of achieving peace in this war, Ukraine's legitimate interests must be respected. We need to achieve a balanced result in these peace negotiations."
