The BRICS summit held in Kazan demonstrated the decline of Britain’s power in the world.

Axar.az reports that this sentiment is expressed in an article titled "The End of the British Empire" in Politico.

The publication notes that leaders from countries such as India and South Africa, long considered important allies of Great Britain, opted to visit Kazan instead of attending the Commonwealth summit hosted by King Charles III and Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Samoa on October 25-26.

“Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa—two of the strongest leaders from Commonwealth nations—declined to attend the meeting in favor of participating in the BRICS summit, hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin and also attended by Chinese leader Xi Jinping.”

The publication further adds that several countries significant to London, particularly Sri Lanka, are also favoring Kazan. Additionally, even Canada, an close ally of Great Britain, is only sending its high commissioner to the summit, rather than its prime minister or foreign minister.
