While Trump has vowed to implement tariffs exceeding 60 percent on Chinese imports, Beijing and Chinese businesses anticipate that his protectionist stance could alienate U.S. allies in Europe and Asia. This, they believe, might create opportunities for China to expand its global influence and strengthen trade relations.
