Croatia condoles Azerbaijan over AZAL crash

Croatian President Zoran Milanovic sent a letter of condolence to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

"Dear Mr. President.

On behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Croatia and my behalf, I offer my deepest condolences to their families and all citizens of Azerbaijan due to the tragic crash of an "Azerbaijan Airlines" passenger plane near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan.

At this sad time, we express our solidarity with the people of Azerbaijan, and we wish the wounded a speedy recovery.

Mr. President, I ask you to accept my highest regards."

It should be recalled that the passenger plane belonging to AZAL carrying out the Baku-Grozny flight crashed on December 25 near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan. Out of 67 people on board the airliner, 42 were citizens of Azerbaijan, 16 were citizens of Russia, 6 were citizens of Kazakhstan, and 3 were citizens of Kyrgyzstan. 38 of them died, 29 survived.

Three crew members, including both pilots, were killed, while two crew members survived.
