Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in New York.

Axar.az reports that the meeting highlighted the high level of strategic partnership between Georgia and Turkiye and successful cooperation in various areas.

Particular attention was paid to the positive dynamics in the development of political and economic relations. It was noted that Turkiye remains Georgia’s largest trading partner.

During the meeting, the sides discussed joint strategic projects of regional importance that make a significant contribution to the development and strengthening of regional connectivity. In this context, the importance of the fully operational Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway was emphasized.

The meeting also covered cooperation in transport and energy. The importance of peace for the sustainable and stable development of the region was stressed.
