The government mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev, visited the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to expand bilateral cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian, and other fields.

During the visit, Yalchin Rafiyev met with the head of the Cabinet Office of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Alem Tsehay Paulos, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Gedion Timotheos, the Minister of Trade and Regional Integration Kassahun Gofe, the Minister of Agriculture Girme Amente, as well as the heads of the Ethiopian Investment Commission and Ethiopian Investment Holding. got acquainted with industrial parks and infrastructure projects in the country.
During the meetings, it was emphasized that the discussions held during the reception of the President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Taye Atske Selassie by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the COP29 Leaders' Summit held in Baku opened a new page and defined a road map for the development of cooperation between the two countries. Also, the specific directions of cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, tourism, education, and other fields were discussed, and it was agreed to create a legal contract base in relevant fields and to establish working groups. The necessity of organizing mutual trade missions and business forums was noted. It was expressed with satisfaction that citizen service centers in Ethiopia were established based on the concept of "ASAN service" which is a successful project of Azerbaijan in this field, and intensive work in this direction continues.
Within the framework of the visit, the 3rd political consultation meeting was held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. The political consultations were led by Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev and Ethiopia's State Minister for Foreign Affairs Mesganu Arga. During the political consultations, bilateral political and economic issues, cooperation within the UN, Non-Aligned Movement, and other international organizations were discussed.
The government mission included representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Agriculture, the State Agency for Citizen Service and Social Innovation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, AZPROMO, Azerbaijan Investment Holding, and SOCAR.
