Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov praised former U.S. President Donald Trump for stating that NATO’s push to include Ukraine was a major cause of the war.
Axar.az, citing JP, reports that Lavrov noted that Trump was the only Western leader to acknowledge this, suggesting he understands Russia’s position.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Trump of being trapped in a "disinformation bubble" and called for more truth about Ukraine. He dismissed Trump’s false claim that his approval rating was 4%, pointing out that his actual rating stands at 57%.
Russia, in recent talks with the U.S. in Riyadh, reiterated its demand that NATO withdraw its 2008 commitment to Ukraine’s future membership.
French officials also criticized Trump’s remarks, stating they did not understand his logic in blaming Ukraine for the war.
