The 13th session of the Governmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine was held in Baku.
Axar.az reports prior to the event, a meeting was held between the co-chairs of the commission - Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko.
During the meeting, the two emphasized that bilateral relations are based on mutual trust and fruitful partnership. German Galushchenko expressed gratitude for the humanitarian aid that Azerbaijan continued to provide to Ukraine. The two also deliberated on the development of cooperation across various domains.
The hybrid-format meeting of the Governmental Commission focused on the current state of and potential opportunities for collaboration between the two countries in politics, economics, trade and industry, energy, transport and information and communication technologies, science and education, culture and other areas.
Co-chair of the commission, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, outlined that the adoption of the Action Plan within the commission would elevate cooperation between the countries to a new level and promote the broad leverage of existing potential in various sectors like energy, minerals, and agriculture, along with the opportunities within industrial parks and free economic zones.
Emphasizing that the two countries are intertwined by strong historical ties, mutual respect, regional cooperation and a shared vision for sustainable development, Ukrainian co-chair of the commission, Energy Minister German Galushchenko added:
"Ukraine places great importance on strategic partnership with Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan was one of the first countries to support Ukraine with energy equipment, and this support in the energy sector has played a vital role for us. We believe that this meeting would allow us to identify new joint initiatives to strengthen the foundations of a long-term partnership between our countries."
Following the discussions, a Protocol on the outcomes of the Governmental Commission's meeting was signed. The parties decided to hold the Commission's 14th meeting in Kyiv.
