Following the huge success of Avengers: Endgame in 2019, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to return with a number of movies comic book fans can hardly wait for. And now, one of them may have just got a whole lot more exciting.

Axar.az reports citing foreign media that recently, Batman star Christian Bale was in talks to join returning players Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson in Thor: Love and Thunder. Now, Thompson has confirmed the news.

Speaking to ET at the premiere of Westworld, Thomson said: "Christian Bale is going to play our villain, which is going to be fantastic".

Bale is, of course, no stranger to superhero movies, having played Bruce Wayne, aka the Caped Crusader, in all three installments of Christopher Nolan's genre-defining Dark Knight trilogy.
