Harvey Weinstein diagnosed with cancer

Disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein has been diagnosed with a form of bone marrow cancer.

Axar.az reports that the 72-year-old former entertainment mogul has chronic myeloid leukemia and is currently receiving treatment in a New York prison, according to reports from U.S. outlets on Monday.

In 1979, Weinstein and his brother Bob co-founded the influential Hollywood film studio Miramax Films. They produced several notable hits, including 1994's Pulp Fiction and 1998's Shakespeare in Love, the latter earning Weinstein an Academy Award for Best Picture.

Weinstein is serving a 16-year prison sentence after being convicted on multiple rape charges in California. Over 80 women have accused him of harassment, sexual assault, or rape, including well-known actresses like Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Ashley Judd.
