The acquisition of land plots for the Rasht-Astara railway project between Azerbaijan and Iran will be completed by the end of this year.

Axar.az reports that Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzana Sadiq gave the information.

According to her, this issue is of great importance in terms of Tehran's strategic position, and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian attaches special importance to the restoration of the corridors.

The minister said that during his visit to the approximately 10-kilometer section of the railway, he received encouraging information and will submit a report to the president in the near future.

Farzana Sadiq noted that one of the main topics of discussion at the trilateral meeting between Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia to be held in Baku will be the Rasht-Astara railway, and it is also expected that agreements on cargo transportation will be continued.
