Iranian drones strike Nakhchivan Airport -

On March 5, drones launched from Iranian territory targeted the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in Azerbaijan.

Axar.az informs, citing Azerbaijani MFA, one drone hit the terminal building of Nakhchivan International Airport, causing damage, while a second drone fell near a school in the village of Shakarabad.

The attack injured two civilians.

Azerbaijani authorities condemned the strikes, noting that the attacks violate international law and increase tensions in the region.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned the Iranian ambassador to protest the incident and stated that a formal note of protest will be submitted.

The ministry stated that Azerbaijan reserves the right to take appropriate measures in response.
