MoD condemns Iranian drone strikes on civilian infrastructure

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan strongly condemned drone attacks on civilian infrastructure by the Iranian armed forces, carried out without any military necessity.

Axar.az reports the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense stated that full responsibility for the incident lies with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

"On March 5, the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran carried out attacks with unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) from Iranian territory on Nakhchivan International Airport and other civilian infrastructure in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. The technical specifications of the drones and the details of the attacks are currently under investigation.

Azerbaijan is preparing the necessary response measures to defend its territorial integrity and sovereignty and to ensure the safety of civilians and civilian infrastructure. The Ministry emphasized that these attacks will not go unanswered," the statement reads.
