Swiss ambassador evacuated to Azerbaijan from Iran

The evacuation from Iran via the Azerbaijani border is ongoing.

Axar.az reports that Switzerland’s ambassador to Iran, Olivier Bangerter, along with a six-member team, was recently evacuated through the Azerbaijani border.

Ambassador Bangerter expressed his desire to continue operations in Baku:

“Azerbaijan is a beautiful and peaceful country. I am glad to be here and grateful for the arrangements made for us. We will travel to Baku from here, and I would very much like to continue our work there, though the final decision rests with the authorities.”
