Man injured in landmine explosion in Aghdam

A man has been injured in a landmine explosion in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district.

Axar.az reports that the incident occurred in the recently liberated village of Yusifjanli.

The victim has been identified as local resident Jeyhun Abbasov (born December 3, 1985), who stepped on a landmine.

An investigation into the incident has been launched.

The person injured by a landmine in Aghdam remains in a moderately serious condition.

This information was provided by Barda District Central Hospital.

Hafiz Aliyev, a trauma specialist at the hospital, said the patient’s treatment is continuing in the intensive care unit:

" The patient was diagnosed with traumatic amputation of one-third of the left lower leg and calf. He has been moved to the ICU for ongoing treatment, and his condition is assessed as moderately serious."
